This is so short sighted of highland council. Not sure how he does it but OJ has the knack of encouraging all the children - not just the ones who are keen on sport to get active and try out a variety of sports . In this day and age when we are trying to get children to be more active not only to keep them fit but also to encourage them in sports to keep them off the streets in their teenage years why would highland council want to block the use of a facility which is not being used? Currently it's a win win situation for parents, children, nhs , the schools and police - why would anyone want to stop that?
The Council should be doing all they can to promote a healthy life style to youngstersnot putting barriers in the way of those that do. A minimal cost to cover energy costs, etc is acceptable but not profit making. If they cannot provide the children with these activities via their own staff they should do all that they can to support those who can.

Both my children have ate ended Oj's classes for over 2 years and have got so much confidence, energy and enjoyment from each one. It dissapoints me that our children's health and wellbeing are not important enough to continue letting these halls for free. These are the children of our future and deserve the best we can give them.

Disappointed to hear that this service may cease due to council greediness. The service OJ provides to the children of our local schools is invaluable and surely someone who dedicates so much time in health and fitness promotion to the younger generation should be encouraged to continue and not hindered. My son thoroughly enjoys his after school class and it has helped and encouraged not only his fitness but his attitude to sport and healthy living. He has learnt to have fun whilst exercising and his confidence in an area of the curriculum he previously struggled with before has grown dramatically. We will be devastated if this fantastic service can not continue.

This is just not on.... What do the Council think they are doing??!! My daughter has been going to OJ Sports for the last 2 years & loves every minute off it... It has taught her to be more confident, work together with other children & not feel left out or alone... I personally think it's not fair to now start charging for use off School Halls.... It's just not right & if things change & they end up having to either cancel classes or put prices up, it's going to have a knock on effect with us parents out here trying to provide an active & healthy life style for our children off the future... Keep up your good work OJ Sports Team... All the kids love you...

This is an absolute disgrace and just typical of very greedy highland council. I thought we were trying to promote excercise, healthy eating and healthy living go our children. Although my daughter has only been goin for a short while she loves her class and coaches. It's a great way to get all the kids from her age group together and join in team games together. Be different if the classes were quiet but our classes are chokka full and every child leaves with a massive smile on their face.

Every child should be given the chance to be active and healthy! The council should be paying you not charging you!

This is the start of the council money grabbing maybe they should stop paying £90000 a year for bottled water.

The classes Oj sports do are loved by all the children attending! The kids thrive on the activities and fun that they have there! Surely the fun and health of the children in the Highlands is more important than making an extra buck or two?!

My son loves OJ Sports - it is a highlight of his week! I'm really disappointed that the Highland Council has decided to take this measure, as it will likely mean that our kids will no longer have access to life-enhancing activities such as OJ Sports. One of the great things about OJ Sports is that John-Alastair has worked hard to make fitness activites accessible to as many kids as possible. I would respectfully ask the Highland Council to reconsider its decision to charge fees for the use of school halls for activities which benefit communities and their children.

I have 2 daughters who regularly attend these classes as of next august I will have 3. staying in Culloden and not being able to drive any after school activities I can get for my girls are vital. The oj sports classes have always been the best run and most reliable out of school activity at the school. I know that if these classes are stopped the girls will be devastated and I dread to think that they may even lose their interest in sport altogether without this very well run and enjoyable class to look forward to every week.

why is it, the Highland Council have to ruin the health of our children when they claim, as a Council, they promote health and wellbeing for all children!
