Nancy is staying and the doors at Seabrook Motors are staying open. I am overwhelmed by how this community fought for her and for our access to these services. We will keep watching to make sure things stay this way but for tonight we celebrate.

Final supporters
It is run by Nancy Seabrook who just recently received news that her location will be closing because she does not speak French!
We demand that this location remain open! It provides a very valuable service to the majority of a population that is English speaking! We are not in need of a bilingual service at this location. Many residents rely on this Service Ontario location due to the travel distance to another Service Ontario location!
Please keep Service Ontario at Seabrook Motors in Thessalon open and operating in English!

Seeing two hundred and fifty names on this list has me feeling overwhelmed because Nancy has worked so hard for our community. It means the world to see you all backing her and demanding we keep this essential service in Thessalon.

Seeing one hundred people come together for Nancy shows just how vital this office is to our neighbors. I remember walking into Seabrook Motors and seeing how much hard work she puts into helping us every single day. This is proof that our community will not let such an important service disappear without a fight.

To me having Service Canada is great for the residents down that way instead of traviling father than they should have to, not to mention for those teens getting their G2 licence who are very nervous about the driving test as is, gives them a chance to do it down there without all the busy traffic in the Sault.
Keep Service Ontario in Thessalon! I am a business owner in this town and we require this office locally. I am in the service business and have been to most homes in this area and have never had to speak French-speaking.
There is a need for the Thessalon office to remain open. Should it close, we would be required to drive one hour either to Blind River or to Sault Ste Marie. This is not feasible for some people.
All small towns need a Service Canada locations. Many are unale to travel to another community for Health Cards, Licences etc. Many elders do not drive and still dependent on othersto get them to a site. Most Sites are not open after 5 pm or on weekends.
If a person requires service in French, they can go to Sault Ste.Marie or Blind River but do not punish everybody for the off chance someone needs service in French
The French in our area speak English too
I doubt the contract would pay enough to make it viable to do that. I don't know for certain but have had some experience with provincial contracts.

This site is a valuable asset to the Town of Thessalon and surrounding communities. Since her opening, there has not been one incident where french translation or communication with a french speaking person was required to complete any of the services offered here.
