Keep this program. You need to support students outside of the usual athletic programs.

By limiting to one team, sending school kids will have a much harder struggle to be on the team. It will be easy to pick the kids who have the experience. My daughter would have never been chosen and OM was one of her best experiences.

I have been participating in Odyssey of the mind for the last three years. I love it. It is great for the mind and soul and I have met some of my closest friends through the program. Odyssey of the mind means the world to me and I would hate for new students to miss out on this amazing opportunity. It would be a shame for such a great program to go away.

My daughter has been a part of this amazing program since grade school. The last two years in HS her team has gone to the World Competition and placed as high as 8th! She is getting ready to start her junior year and it would be devastating if only 7 students were to make the team. There are at least 19 HS students returning this year to Odyssey at WHS (not counting in coming Freshman who participated in 8th grade). This could mean that 12 returning students would not be able to participate. Her team works hard from Oct through May. Through this they has learned leadership, teamwork, problem solving, discipline, resiliency, accountability, hard work, and continuous improvement skills that will last them a life time! Going from 7 teams with 49 students overall to 3 teams (1 at each school level) with 21 students overall is a greater than 50% reduction. Let’s unite to save the integrity of this program at Woodstown!

This is an amazing program. Although my daughter is no longer part of the OM team I am forever grateful to Mrs. Miles for the experience, guidance and intellectual cultivation she provided my daughter!!! Count on me to help support this program!

OM means so much to me and many others. And I feel that cutting to 3 teams is making it more stressful, and I feel that it just should not happen.

This program offers so many positives like true team work, learning to think on your feet, and creating solutions to difficult problems. These are life lessons that will be carried on though out life. This is a brain sport and a creative outlet, that is something that isn’t matched anywhere else in the curriculum. This program must be saved.

These programs count. How are these kids supposed to shine on college applications if there aren’t any programs/ activities left for them to participate in?

Odyssey of the Mind is a wonderful, educational program that teaches students a variety of life skills, as well as creativity. Getting rid of this program would be a loss to your school and students.

Odyssey of The Mind is a great academic opportunity, as well as a way to learn life skills. I am from Arkansas and my team number is 8149. I have met so many people and made so many friends, including a member of one of your teams.
