This will do nothing but destroy a rich part of New York’s sport, fun and recreational way of life for thousands of adults and children. I imagine no one even bothered to research species management if this bill were to pass and these animals were left to overproduce when not taken for contests, competitions or tournaments. Wildlife overpopulation will become a HUGE issue for New York State to figure out how to solve then.

These things are traditions carried out for many years in New York. The economic and tourism benefits are important to many small towns across the state. Many of these are purposely run to raise money for specific charitable causes, The only reason it seems to end such contests, tournaments, etc. is that the State does not make any money from them.

Please don’t let this proposal go to committee. It’s our way of life in upstate NY. New York City is so different from our rural areas it is not fair to impose these kind of regulations on sports such fishing derby’s, hunt tests and field trials. I may add that these events bring a large amount of revenue from out of state.

I support our hunting and fishing traditions in NYS. These events generate uncountable revenue in some of the most economically depressed areas of the state.

These traditions were passed on to us and will be passed onto our children, as it should be. There stands no larger group of ethical, friendly people amongst society than sportsman. We do what we love and leave others alone to live as they choose. There are no grounds to attack our sport and traditions.
