We need outdoor traditions to continue to run deep in the blood of our entire nation. I would sign this a million times over. We should be able to enjoy the outdoors in any way we see fit and share in the commrodery that these event bring. Some of these events bring cherished memories to people of this state therefore, Nobody and I mean nobody has any right to tell us as a free people otherwise.

If this passes watch the increase in the exodus from NY. We are already the state with the highest amount of people leaving. Also if the Dems want to start impairing our outdoor life, just watch the money the state receives in gear, licenses and other outdoor revenues plummet. What does an assemblywoman from NYC know about hunting and fishing anyway?

What does it matter if I catch or shoot my daily limit on my own, or as part of a "competition"? As long as we are responsible in managing the populations as a whole, then all is in order. Daily and seasonal limits are already managed by state DEC, so it is not like we're hunting animals to extinction by any means.
Most of these events are held as an excuse to get outdoors, then gather socially with fellow outdoorsmen/women.
Let's not all forget that it is fees from hunting licenses, as well as taxes on firearms, ammunition, and other outdoor gear that goes directly to wildlife conservation. I don't see PETA working to make wildlife habitat better, but DU does.

The total destruction of century old traditions continues thanks to those that think Central Park represents the great outdoors. Sickening!

This is what happens when yuppies from the city have no idea what life is like in the north and think that we are ruthless and inhumaine to the animals we take to feed our family’s.
