Watch the community feedback at public Zoom hearings, and then listen to your appointees overwhelmingly dismissing the hearing participants, our community, as “complainers” (exact words uttered by your appointees). Mr. Kleppin has said it out loud in providing guidance to your appointees; “It is not your job to make the residents happy.” I was shocked neither of you jumped in to correct the record in that — it shows that Mr. Kleppin is doing what his leaders want, and is being rewarded accordingly. That guidance emboldens and encourages your other appointees to dismiss us, and they have. Beyond disrespect, (some of) your appointees’ responses border on disdain for community concerns. You two own the outcomes — please re-set your appointees to serve the people of Norwalk with respect and compassion, rather than dismissiveness, selective statistics that push sekective POVs, and twisting community words and intentions to imply that we’re unreasonable. Watch their candid conversations after public input on the various Zoom recordings (specifically the 12/15/21 ENO TOD hearing — your appointees comments are jaw-dropping in their utter disregard and dismissal for our ENO community) — it’s shocking to hear what they say. Shocking. That hearing was the moment my regard for your leadership all but collapsed. Please pause and re-set this badly-need effort to “clean up” zoning to serve the people who have invested in this community as first priority, so we have a plan that enhances our lives. This is an outrageous idea. We do NOT need anymore housing, we are so overpopulated now. Why would you even consider making a residential neighborhood a 2 family zone. We have worked hard to be in a single family neighborhood. Is anyone thinking about us the taxpayers????

Totally opposed to changing single family homes to allow multi family housing…,it’s not legal and it’s so wrong. Stop ruining this gorgeous small city with overdevelopment! Focus on fixing the problems that we have been asking for repairs for years for first! Paving the broken cracked streets and fixing storm drain lines to handle heavy rains

Norwalk is becoming a downright ugly mishmash of apartment buildings. Building 200 unit apartment buildings where only 20 units are set aside for lower income families is a drop in the bucket and nothing to pat yourselves on the back over. Hurricane Sandy damage really was the precipice for all the large “luxury” apartments along Water street and surrounding streets. Some are rather cheaply constructed and already looking shabby. Never let a crises go to waste. Norwalk was always a racially diverse working class city! We have already exceeded fair share. Leave us alone!
