It seems like our elected and appointed officials will pass what they want despite that the citizens of Norwalk are very clearly saying we don't like their plans. I very clearly heard Zoning Chairperson at one of the hearings say that all of the applause for citizen comments would not affect the committee's decisions. Why not? Our officials need to remember that they work for us.

I can't help but believe that the Zoning Commission is being influenced by developers who endeavor to change the entire neighborhood structure of East Norwalk. Who on the Zoning Commission even lives in East Norwalk? And, are we falling prey to "Norwalk transplants" on the Zoning Commission who have no clue about the history of East Norwalk nor its neighborhoods. I'm tired of seeing East Norwalk fall prey to greedy developers who claim "they know what's best" for the people who actually live here. This is our home and our neighborhoods.

The proposed changes do not benefit anyone but those with deep pockets. Norwalk has always been a town that has maintained generational families. These changes will not encourage those types of ties to the community moving forward- this town deserves better. Shame on those who allow this to happen.

This up zoning makes no common sense at all These streets cannot be made wider and traffic is already inzane. Driver anxiety is at its most high I have ever seen. No help or even a word from our sp call state rep or even our councilmen. It will already take years to correct what the greety develepers have done to date. They don't even want to scale back and now its only renting apartments, not like in the 80s and 90s when at least it was condominiums and ownership can at least give assurance of community respect.
