This petition is to try and get Northampton Borough Council, Northampton County Council and Northamptonshire Police to work together to find a way to fund the PCSOs. Jobs that are at risk due to lack of funding. The PCSOs do a range of jobs in there role of supporting the Police, from house to house enquires, protecting crime scenes, being the man/woman you see. They do lots of work in schools with young people who may need guidence to keep them away from crime. They are always collecting information and passing this on to the Police to prevent crime in the first place. They help by often being the first to respond to local crime. If we were to loose them, this work would be passed on to normal police, but due to limited resouces a lot of this would be lost. We would end up with offcers under more stress and unable to work which would in turn cost more money.
