Miss walking the dog around this field. You could do just the field or make it a much longer walk up to West Tan. Such a shame. Amazing views, fresh air, beautiful river side walk. Bring it back please!

Regularly use this footpath to walk our dog, very disappointed it has been closed. There are not too many 'long' walks that are so accessible to the village without going on the roadside. So safe for dog walking and with younger children.

I moved away from NS last year but have fond memories of the lovely walk along the river bank with my family and of course, the dog. It's a real shame that this footpath which was the only safe route between Sleningford and NS is now gone. It should remain open for all to enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

This footpath was on important connection to the village of West Tanfield for those who wished to have a pleasant walk walk along the river rather than a trek along a busy minor road. It Is greatly missed.

Very disappointing & unfair that we have lost this & other footpaths in the area .
I have walked Dunkirk for 9 years enjoying the scenery & wildlife , a really safe walk for the dog & kids , beautiful , for all to enjoy . Access should not be restricted !!

We live in an attractive village adjacent to a beautiful river and the land owners, for whatever reason, have denied us access to the river side land, which is not impressive!

I shall miss this walk by the river; walking the diversion ruins the overall health-giving beauty of the walk and forces walkers on to a busy and noisy road.

Wonderful walk with the dog and friends, lots to see as you went round, lovely to see the bird life. A real shame when it closed, to live in the countryside and yet not be able to access it is very sad!

It's not fair to close these footpaths that people have used for years! They play a vital part in some folks lives, allowing them access to such beauty around us.
Rural footpaths are an essential part of everyday life and need to remain so. Owners and walkers need to work together to maintain the access to our countryside.

We must keep our footpaths open. We need these beautiful places to walk and be mindful of how fortunate we are and time to think and reflect. It helps with the everyday stress. We work hard, we deserve these simple pleasures. More than happy to volunteer with any work that needs doing to keep the paths open.
