I don't think it a wise move to reduce ANY PCSOs it would only result in higher crime figures, as it is we don't have anywhere near enough police.

This potentially opens the door for an increase in crime. We cannot afford lose this vital resource.

It is imperative that government respect that their decisions on austerity need to carefully balanced against their principal duty to ensure and uphold the quality of public services. Further cuts to the excellent work that PCSOs deliver to the community demonstrates a real lack of management and social judgment on behalf of the government and the mayor and they need to reconsider their position accordingly.

I don't know whether stopping PCSOs would "decimate" local policing, as stated, or whether crime and nuisance rates are rising or falling locally, but reducing local patrols is likely to allow an increase in local crimes and nuisances.

Community officers and PCSOS are vital to the safety of London. Without their intelligence gathering and on the scene observation of crimes in progress the community would be more vulnerable and criminality levels higher.

It will undo much of the good work that has been done and will make communication between police and the public more remote. It will discourage people's communication with their neighbours.

As the widow of a former police officer and the mother of a serving police officer I feel very strongly that our once proud police service has been steadily diminished by stringent cuts over the years. To axe the PCSOs is madness as they are a very comforting sight on our neighbourhood streets. Please reconsider this decision
Yours sincerely

Neighbourhood policing is important. It gives a sense of security to the area. It keeps the police informed of local activities (legal and illegal)

The proposals will destroy the presence, relationships, confidence and safety developed by the PCSOs over the years right across London. Bonkers idea!

I commute to carshalton on the hill and have done for the last 10 years as I own a business there. In that 10 years anti social behaviour has dramatically dropped around the area so much so that I have been thinking on moving to the area now. The drop in anti social behaviour I can honestly say is down to the hard work and dedication of the local pcso's dianne and Mario who are the only contact with the police I get. They are a credit to the police and the uniform they ware. Unfortunately due to the poor way in which the pcso's are treated by the metropolitan police dianne decided to leave.. A sad loss...!! If Mario go's I will have lost faith in the police service as a whole and will not be so supportive in the future...!!!!
