These proposed cuts to policing numbers will put residents at risk. Police Community Support Officers do great work in our community, and are always out and about making residents feel safe and dealing with local issues.

I'm not sure about these PCSO's, but I'm not sure cuts are the answer, either!

The Neighbourhood team has been vital to me personally when I was a councillor when was trying to deal with a family who was terrorising the neighbourhood. It was only with their help and expert knowledge of the characters involved that the problem was solved. Our team have vital local knowledge of places and residents which makes for a much quicker solution to many of our problems and stops the problems escalating into big ones which would be harder to solve. Anticipation of criminal activities and knowledge of residents is a much more effective and, in the long run, cheaper way to deal with crime. Our Ward Panel meetings would be much less meaningful without them. I urge the Mayor to re think his plan as crime will definitely increase and Londoners will feel far more vulnerable without our local teams.

It is going to be a great loss when our PCSO 7181 Mark Jackson is made to hang up his hat. It's also a great shame the Mayor of London, one Boris Johnson, has yet again lied his way out of another situation. He should man up, admit that he knew about this all along and NOT get rid of our neighbour hood PCSO's.

The neighbour hood please are a huge asset to our community. When I have been in need of any help or assistance the PCSO's have always been an amazing help. I see these police on a more regular basis walking their area or helping the community, than I do other public servents. I think if you are to get rid of these fantastic people, crime rates will shoot up, and so many lives will be affected.

PCSOs are a vital, necessary and integral part of the UK policing model. Their high front line visibility is a major deterrent to crime and their "human face" approachability has helped enormously to foster public trust and good community relationships. To axe or even reduce the number of PCSOs in the London wards would result in an increase in both crime and anti-social behaviour. The Met commissioner and the Mayor of London owe it to their public to make public safety a top priority - especially so if retail and other businesses are to flourish in the London area. Getting rid of our PCSOs is short-sighted shot-termism on a grand scale and is likely to add to overall costs, not reduce them, in the long run. To those in positions of power - please listen to the collective voice of your public and keep our existing PCSOs in place. They offer superb value for money and are an invaluable asset to our communities.
