It's wrong to cut the PCSO posts, they do a great job in assuring the community and determining the criminals. Visibility of representatives in streets is very important and PCSOs are the right people to do this job. Boris don't be selfish and cut these posts. The neighbourhood policing team provide a huge amount of support and information for residents and is an essential service that should not be cut. My view is any cuts should be made at the top - not the bottom where all the work is done.

I totally agree, we need more police on the streets not less. A special officer has to work 2 yrs voluntarily on the beat before passing exams to be a 'proper' police officer. Its disgusting

It is absolutely disghusting what police chiefs, mayor and this rubbish govt is doing. We need PCSOS. I live in waltham forest borough and I never see police officers around my estate, I always see PCSOs patrolling the area and showing their presence. It has always been very reassuring see them around. It has had a great impact on the public confidence and it would be a shame to lose such valuable assets. I completely disagree with decision to get rid of them...

The Government and the Mayor should be ashamed of themselves for cutting the budget for the police. The police should stop attending their meetings so they can see what it's like not to have the police around.

I think it is a very bad idea, the crime will go up. Police is already struggling with loads of pressure and now the cuts will rise the crime.
