PCSOs are a great success as they integrate with local people tackling our concerns.

This, along with all the other cuts being made is another example of having to get by with extremely limited resources which can't be sustained. We're potentially likely to see an increase in crime with more and more and people being out of work and then with less police to deal with it. In addition those left in the roles will be unable to cover the increased workloads which will either see huge areas where things simply don't get done or employees end up being absent with work-related stress. This is the way everything seems to be going leaving less people to do the same amount of work that existed in the first place. It needs to stop but it especially needs to stop with our emergency services

I believe by getting rid of PCSO's, we will be losing a lot of information and intelligence.

So we axe community policing and then have to deal with the fall out. Absolutely ridiculous.
Keep our police on our streets!

Our community support team consisting of 2 officers and a part time PC are fantastic the improvement since they came to Heathway has been amazing. If they leave I dread to think what will happen. I speak for 32 stores and we really want them to stay. Maybe the people cutting back the costs should visit the less well off boroughs then they will see for themselves why we need community support, you have taken away police stations what more???

The neighbourhood police do a great job in deterring crime in the area and are valued by local residents.

PCSOs provide a vital link between the community and qualified police officers. they are usually younger and more informal, and are therefore often better at forming relationships with young people, who are the originators of most ASB. The informal intelligence provided by PCSOs, and their ability to buildlinks with young poeple is invaluable, (and very hard to put a value on), but this does not mean getting rid of them will not damage the effectiveness of local policing.

Its so important that we keep the PCSO's as owing to the cuts in the Police these members of staff are so important in helping keep the people safe and giver advice when a police officer isn't around. If these people are got rid of, this country will be falling on its knees!

PSCO,s are the backbone of local policing. With all the money we spend on other things how the hell can it be sensible to cut police numbers. Cut them but the future will come back to haunt you . X

The cut police numbers and got away with it by putting PCSO's on the streets. Now there are cutting their numbers, shall we all get a uniform and do it ourselves? This is shameful

Some people may think they're a waste. Some definitely are. However thats up to the organisation to improve their training and powers. Some forces utilise their pcso's much better than the met.
People may say they want the money for more constables. However pc's will always have to chase arrest figures and aren't allowed to walk and are wanted in cars. Which is unreasonable. Keep the decent pcso's that aren't chocloate tea pots.
