In my area there is a vital need for the streets to be policed. Up till now the PCSO's have been very much in the forefront and have done a very good job in supporting the different teams. In the beginning when the Safer Neighbourhood Teams were introduced crime fell dramatically as it was seen to have uniforms on the streets at all times which people were aware of and we all felt safe. To think about cutting the PCSO's would be a totally wrong move in my opinion. I attend our Ward police panel every 2/3 months and the SNT have a huge responsibility to police the ward with funds being cut continuously but they still manage to do a good job....just about. To cut the teams further would result in gangs....violent individuals and burglaries to sky rocket out of control.

The current Mayor should get his priorities right. Boris Johnson is happy to cut funding to the emergency services, such as Poloce staff and Fire Stations but has, and wants to spend millions on useless cable cars and garden bridges. Enough is enough!!!!!!!!!

Policing is needed on streets not in cars, offices etc
Essential for picking up on things at an early stage to stop escalation etc
Bad behaviour , littering etc needs stopping at an early stage

Our local safer neighbourhood team have been a useful and reliable presence in our area. They have shown to be capable of dealing with crime and disorder at all levels.

It's so important there is no reduction in PSCO's in London. Our city will not be safe without them!

It is important to have Police on the streets, they are a vital link between the station and the public.

This is a cause that I strongly believe in. The community offices in Havering are utterly superb and to let them go would be a massive loss to the safety and wellbeing of the Havering Community.

Boris - you have got this all wrong. There has been closures of police stations and now you are proposing to axe the PCSOs. What are we suppose to do - there are more migrants etc entering this country and the police system is being reduced, how are we suppose to be safe when we don't have any police in the areas we live in?????
PCSO's are invaluable and are and always have been seen as the public face of policing , from saying hello on the streets to attending schools and letting young citizens get to know the police, all of this work which has been carried out over the last decade will be undone and I do not think people will fully appreciate the impact that this will have if it goes through until they are gone.

We need more not less police. The population is at its highest level ever, and the Mayor is going to cut policing budget. This is a joke!

Our PCSOs have done a sterling job, I believe if we lose them the gang culture that they have managed to stem together with nuisance and anti social behaviour will escalate. Our neighbourhoods need protecting

PCSOs play a vital role in the Safer Neighbourhood Team and they are a link between the community and police. They are on the ground to assist the local community with crime prevention advice and reassurance and advice on a daily basis. They are the face of the Metropolitan Police Service, which if disbanded will loose this vital service, to the community. PCSOs are there when the community needs them most, when they have no one to talk to, they can turn to PCSOs to help them from time to time. PCSOs should not be disbanded because of the vital role they play in the community, sometimes even greater than police officers.

I fully support a consultation with local people about the future of policing in the capital. PCSOs provide a visible and essential element of London's policing and it would be lunacy to scrap them all. We need more officers on the beat and fewer behind closed doors.
