Neighbourhood support is valued as a way to promote safer communities. I would be prepared to contribute more to retain staff.

As elderly residents we feel we will become increasingly vunerable and unprotected if the cuts go ahead

To axe all London's neighbourhood PCSOs would be a disaster; there is a high probability of an increase in crime and our neighbourhoods would certainly be less safe. The continuing economic woes, if we are realistic and temper Osborne’s boyish optimism, will most certainly continue to fuel social unrest in its broadest sense, so this is not the time to reduce essential policing of our streets and neighbours; it’s a false economy.

These guys on streets and Neighbourhood Watch in Richmond have been invaluable.
Only one left and very worried that we might loose him and all good work for last decade will unravel.

Police do a great job and they had a tough enough job as it is, with the resources being reduced they will be left unprotected and public perception and faith will be lost. This is an unnecessary cut on a already reduced service to the public.

Our local police station in London has been closed already. PCSOs know their local area and offer invaluable support.

The proposal to axe PCSOs is very worrying. It seems to undermine the hard work invested by communities and the Police, in particular PCSOs, in building safe neighbourhoods over the years..

PCSOs have become a key complement to police officers in neighbourhood safety and well-being. In future they will become even more necessary to free plice resources to focus on the main areas of crime growth - violence and cybercrime.

It's disgusting , we rely on our police and our PSO they are a much needed part of our community , they are there when you need them and are always happy to help reassure you at all times , if we lose them people will become hermits afraid to go out because there will be no sense of security in our neighbour hood! Get rid of MPs seconded homes why should we suffer yet the government is happy to pay for the luxury of a second home ! Start looking at the bigger picture society is changing so is crime don't throw us to the wolves raise the police force numbers and save our PSO .

The PCSO service transformed the neighbourhood where I live within weeks of being launched. That was a catch-up on years of neglect. A smaller service is definitely required if the situation is note to deteriorate badly and fast. Surely, many former PCSO's with their practical experience with the public, have moved into valuable positions in the police service.

It would be a really bad idea to axe police officers on the beat. Crime would go up and we would feel less safe on our streets.

I have had contact with the neighbourhood police and Community support officers in my area several times over a 15 year period. All good and all to a conclusion, that either put criminals behind bars or removed them from the neighbourhood with ASBOS. That's what we would lose locally, if they go.

The neighbourhood PCSOs walk the beat and know the area- They are visible within our community and people feel able to approach them about local concerns with regards to keeping the locality safe. AS I understand the basis of the proposal it is entirely financially driven. Surely such decisions should be underpinned by evidenced based policing!!
