This is an issue which may well be of concern to the people of Wales in the very near future.
At present there is no culling of badgers in Wales and badger vaccination programmes are being successfully carried out.
The Welsh Assembly is, however, under pressure to change this policy, to allow the slaughter of badgers across Wales and to end the vaccination programmes.
This petition (and others across Wales) is being set up to give our badger population protection against these possible changes. It gives local people the chance to have their say and it gives local councils the chance to protect badgers on council-owned land and to invest in local badger vaccination projects.
To preserve the integrity of this petition please only sign it if you live, work or study in the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council area.

We, the undersigned, call on Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council to prohibit the culling of badgers on council-owned land and invest in vaccination programmes across the county. We ask this because we believe culling to be inhumane, inefficient and unscientific.

im honestly blown away by how many locals are stepping up for our badgers right now. seeing this much support makes me feel like we actually have a shot at keeping the vaccination program going.

There has been a considerable amount of our taxes wasted on killing these beautiful beings already! It has NOT been proved that badgers are responsible for bovine TB, however, vacinnes HAVE been proven to work.
There is no proof of badgers giving Tb to cattle - its more the other way around. Controls and cattle and farming practices are the way to reduce TB.
Having seen the expensive fiasco that was the English badger cull, please keep up the vaccination program and show how to deal EFFECTIVELY and HUMANELY with this disease. Thank you!
I am vehemently against any culling taking place, it has proven to be a catastrophic failure and totally unnecessary. I strongly urge NPT council to consider vaccination and to protect badgers in the NPT area.
Please, no Badger culling on Neath Port Talbot land. Let's keep blood stains off our landscape and keep our wildlife safe for future generations of residents and visitors.
It should be the farmers that are culled for letting their infected cattle which they bought cheap, infect other wildlife.
