This Natick dam area must not be altered from its present state. Thus dam must not be tapered with, altered, or destroyed. The dam an environmental treasure to safeguard and preserve for the residents of Natick and surrounding communities. This is a very special, peaceful and soothing area of Natick I consider irreplaceable. A place that awakens nostalgic memories for many area residents, and for future visitors to create new ones. I encourage other residents, environmetal groups, and land preservationists to chime in by sign this important petition.

If our community allows this to happen without voicing opposition, we will not be entitled to the regret felt when we see the transformation. Please voice your opinion by signing this petition.

The dam is an iconic piece of the town’s history. I make a visit to the dam every time I return to the town I grew up in.

What is South Natick without the "DAM" or the "FALLS"?

It's disappointing to see that so many people donated money to Natick Wildlife Care, Inc. (NWC), which has no expertise whatsoever in dam management, river ecosystems, or rehabbing animals directly impacted by the river situation. Amazing how people will put on blinders and let emotions overtake any sense of logic or rational thought.

Save what money, exactly? It will cost an extra $1M to save the dam.

If you've been there recently throughout the drought, you'd have noticed that there was no water flowing over the edge. With intense drought even more likely in future years, brace yourself for lots of tragedy.

Depends on how far back you want to go. Believe it or not, there was a point in Natick's history when no dam or spillway existed on the river! So I think want you mean to say is that we should restore the river, because an undammed river is part of Natick history!
