Without the dam impoundment there will be no water front park. The flow of the Charles River fluctuates by season. With reduced flow it will look like a big ditch and eventually the riparian area will likely become filled with invasive phragmites and purple loose strife.
Keep the dam, remove the trees and maintain grass and meadow areas.
