I green up in Natick and loved visiting the dam. It would be a tragedy if it was to be torn down.

Back in the 1950s, my father found an old slide stuck on the dam. Somehow, he managed to pull it out and bring it home. He added a few missing steps, painted the railing and stood it in our backyard. We made it nice and slippery by sitting on wax paper for the first few rides down. After that , you would fly, screaming the whole way! The slide came with me to Keene, NH, then Georgetown and Andover as the next generation took over the wax paper and flying off the end into the air. Now, this vintage slide is delighting a third generation with it’s ride and it’s story.

If we don’t save the damn it will have negative affects not only for the specific area but surrounding areas as well

I have lived in South Natick since childhood (now over 60 years). Removing this historical and beautiful landmark ,where generations of families, artists, fishing enthusiasts, boaters, bird enthusiasts and more have found community and sanctity would be a major loss for Natick and the South Natick Community. I believe preserving the dam and devising a footprint that allows for replanting trees is the best solution for all interested parties.

Do you want your children to tell you one day, looking at old photos: "OK, Boomer, and you couldn't even preserve such a beautiful place?"

The Dam is a landmark, it’s part of South Natick and Natick itself. It should be voted on by the people not a Committee!

I grew up on Cottage Street and have canoed many times down the Charles River to the falls. Such a beautiful spot.

This was such a part of my childhood I’d hate to see it go.

Removing the dam is overreaching. Going to far. Do not destroy this beautiful, peaceful place which is appreciated and enjoyed by so many.

Love that dam. Been an icon for many many years before we lived there.

I grew up in Natick, and have fond memories picnicking in this beautiful area, and being on the lookout for turtles, fish, and frogs with my dad in his canoe.

I have always loved autumn in Natick. I often visited South Natick and sat looking at the water falling by the river.
