Save the dam. It belongs there. Memories are too precious.

I grew up going to here in preschool and kindergarten. It is one of my fondest memories and so enjoy sitting there now. A nice breath of fresh air.

There is an 80 year old ecosystem now created both above and below the dam. I own the house at 80 Eliot st, and therefore own to the middle of the river just above the dam. I watch ducks with their young ducklings ,following their parents, paddling along the river . I watch water birds fly to and land on the river behind the property and wonder what will happen to those and the many other species that call the wide river their home. nobody living today built the dam , why do we think we should take it away.

I grew up at 113 Pleasant St.. I spent most of my time there at the falls.. It would be devastating to lose this gorgeous river view! How could I ever go back home? And I do.. I pray you reconsider this horrible idea! Southies will be left in tears running as the river wide! PLEASE!!!! SAVE THE DAM!!!

I walked past this beautiful place every day on my way to/from Eliot School. It's a piece of South Natick's heritage. It would be a shame to lose it.

Sometimes, we need to heed the beauty, not speed the unfettered growth.

While we can site all the reasons from an engineering standpoint to remove the dam I think we can not overlook the basic thought that the dam greatly contributes to the beauty and peacefulness of the town. And that is something that is being lost in far too many towns in the name of progress or economics. Daniel Green Civil Engineer Fellow of the American Concrete Institute NHS. Class of 1969
