Save the dam

I think this dam is an iconic landmark in the town of Natick, and would be in favor of keeping it, even if doing so is more expensive than removing it. Any ecological damage has already been done, and new ecosystems have developed as a result of its presence. Let’s try our best to keep it.

Please save the So. Natick dam on the Charles River by repairing it. Do not tear it down.

It's hard to understand why anybody would want to destroy the beauty of this area. Save the dam.

I grew up in Natick and, as a Sherborn resident, drive past the dam frequently. Please keep the dam standing!

Born and raised in Natick - the falls are part of my memories; part of my child hood; part of my family; part of all of us. Please don’t let this critical and historic piece of Natick be erased and cancelled like so many other pieces of our past. Protect our falls. Protect our past. Protect our memories!

I drive over the bridge every day and see the sparkling gem that is Natick dam. I’ve seen the artists and their easels, and people of all ages that flock to the dam to enjoy the sight and sound of the water rushing over the dam. Right below the dam is one of the great blue heron’s favorite fishing spots. I notice as time goes by less and less of Natick is open fields and thick woods. Let’s not ruin one of the last bastions of natural beauty disappear. There are also concerns about the stench that could arise because of the lowering of the river. I live on Glen St. and visit and enjoy the falls and the beauty of the gulf of water created above. It’s a breath taking scene in the fall when the leaves change. Please don’t ruin one of the most beautiful spots in Natick.
