The city keeps ignoring our emails about the parking removal. We are gathering documentation on how this project disrupts local business access.

Studies in the Netherlands and elsewhere have shown conclusively that unprotected, narrow bike lanes like those proposed for N 40th don't encourage bicycling and do little to nothing to improve safe. Poor, money-wasting designs like these simply discourage citizens from voting for future transportation levies.
Keep N.40th street open for parking. Residents and visitors need this to continue quality of life.
City Council - please listen, and stop this proposed bicycle lane. I’m an avid cyclist, but 30th isn’t the place for a bike lane; bike sharrows work work fine.
Residents and visitors also need to be safe going to and from their houses no matter what form of transportation hey use too.
In fact people that bike actually subsidize those who drive cars. "So even if you don’t drive, you’re paying for highways, a type of infrastructure that only cars can use. Could you please cite the peer reviewed study. In addition it is also going to be a protected bike lane so that would encourage more people who are wary of biking in the car lane to bike up the hill on 40th.

I've lived here over 30 years and I'm super pro-cyclist. N40th Street is not in my opinion an appropriate street for a bike lane. Thank you.
