As a property owner and a gardener I wonder if there may be a possibility for compromise ? Perhaps Wally can be allowed to oversee the artistic and horticultural editing of the garden so that the property owners can respectfully maintain their investment ? With each side taking balanced reasonable steps both parties, including the surrounding community who obviously support and love this garden, will have a win-win situation.

Wally is an excellent plantsman who has tended a special collector's garden for thirty years. His garden is a delight to the neighbors. He should be allowed to continue his plant research and grow his garden.

Wally can easily clear a path between the plants and the wall of the building for whatever needs to happen there. Not necessary to take out the whole garden . . . it's beautiful and adds to the neighborhood. The landlords probably are using this as an excuse for kicking him out of this rent-controlled space.
