This principal had a chance to allow a young lady to to realize her dreams of keeping with the tradition of veterans day ceremony. Keep of the work Katelyn. Don't let anyone stop you.

How sad and disappointing that our children are once again being denied the opportunity to pay respect and honor veterans, but more importantly that special veteran that is a family member. Many of our student's currently have a parent that is deployed and will spend the holidays knowing they are thousands of miles away, coping the best they can while not knowing if they'll return.
I know my children looked forward to this celebration each year and beamed with pride knowing that their dad served his country.
If memory serves me correct, I believe that Ms. Hansen's father or someone in her immediate family served because I thought she introduced them during last year's program.
My apologizes for such a long post, I just feel this is another attempt to erase where we've been and the sacrifices we've paid that afford us the incredible life we so many take for granted.

Wow! Way to go kids!! I am so sorry that your principal does not see the value in honoring our Vets. MCMS and RE went all out to honor the men and women who served and continue to serve.

I agree. The Veterans day assembly is very important to me, along with many others. We should be able to properly recognize all that have fought, served, and risked their lives for us.

It is important to teach our children what Veterans Day is about and why it’s important to show our appreciation to our veterans! As a Gold Star sister I️ believe this is something that should be sacred to all Americans and is not something that should be taken out of schools.
