Mr. Carnine is an outstanding teacher who would never do anything to purposely offend anyone. Many of my friends are in his 6th period class and have told me that many of the accusations the article said were false. Mr. Carnine was also my cousin who's in college's teacher and she said tht throughout every teacher she's had Carnine will 100% always be her favorite teacher because he is both amazing individual and an outstanding teacher. Please don't take the job of someone do amazing.

Mr. Carnine was the best teacher anyone can have. He didn't deserve any of this. I loved him and he made my sixth grade experience so much more fun. He was wonderful to his students and there is no way that he would have done something like this. Please what is happening to Mr. Carnine is wrong and we must do something about it. There is not one thing that he ever did to make him deserve something like this.

According to the article, all of the "racist" things he said were on a lesson on racist stereotypes, meaning that he was teaching the children about the impact that racial stereotypes have on people, not that he is a racist himself.

Mr. Carnine is my History teacher and he is one of the best I've ever had. He makes learning so much fun ms cares if his students learn. I was there for the classes that the witness described and those things did not happen at all! The article says that he said Mike Brown got what he deserved, but Mr. Carnine had actually stated several times before and after the trial that he thought the shooting of Michael Brown was extremely wrong. I'm writing the school a letter explaining exactly what did happen in those lessons because I can't fit it all in here.

I was in the class when he made these comments, and also being one of two black kids I didn't get the slightest bit offended. He'smy favorite teacher and I don't know how life would be without Mr. Carnine. Please don't let go my favorite teacher of all the time because of falsely being accused of being racist.

Mr. Carnine was one of the best teachers I have ever had. His reputation has been damaged by these false accusations. His class and himself will never be the same. Anyone who steps into his room could see how much he loves his job - from the artwork he has hanging in his room to all the kids eating in his room at lunch. There is so much evidence against this amazing teacher being racist. In my year in his class, he never said anything remotely racially disparaging. It would be one of the biggest mistakes LAUSD has ever made to fire one of the best, or the best, teachers at Paul Revere.

Mr. Carnine is one of the few teachers who have changed my life. He has such an enthusiasm for teaching, and because of this he passes on an enthusiasm for learning to all of his students. I never thought I would care about ancient civilizations like Rome, Greece, and China. The way he teaches however, made me realize how beautiful these civilizations were. He basically made me want to go back in time and live in those times! Which is completely crazy because who would want to live in a time before private indoor plumbing? (Rome had pretty good plumbing for their time though). He didn't only teach me that these civilizations were beautiful, he taught me how beautiful and rich culture was. He taught me that life is rich with music and art and amazing accomplishments. He made me proud of the human race. He made me love us. He also taught me, that each culture has its profound beauty, which was to be cherished and celebrated. This is why these accusations against him are nonsense. He taught me to love other cultures and other people. He showed all of us how to grow a deep respect for other people who looked different than us. He was always loud with his singsong voice, and his elaborate, grandeur gestures. He would flourish his arms and leap around. He lives the way he teaches, bright, passionate, and exciting. He is like a flame of beautiful greek Fire, (he taught me about greek Fire by the way) that the people around him could only cherish. We were blessed to have him as a teacher. Blessed to be in his presence. Sometimes, when someone burns that brightly, instead of enjoying the light and basking in the warmth, some people want to put that light out. They may feel that he is too bright, that fire can burn. But fire can also save lives by keeping people warm. And Mr. Carnine has kept me warm. He has kept so many students warm. I always felt so safe with him. I loved going into his classroom: it was my Paul Revere Home (besides Mr. H's room, that was also home). His c

This is horrible and unfair. How can our society be a true democracy if when an individual voices his opinion is persecuted for racism. I'm sorry that the world is harsh but racial stereotypes are real and it is important to rcognize that. For a teacher to push educational and philosophical boundaries with his teaching methods and class work is brave and inspirational. I cannot think of a more fair, kind, or just teacher or person I know. I am blessed and could not have asked for a better teacher. I know in my heart what the truth is and I hope everyone else does too. He is not racist or discriminatory and the color of your skin, religion, or socioeconomics should not interfere with education for other students or the student making allegations. We love you Mr. Carnine!

My daughter is in his class this year and he has inspired her to travel the world. He is a gentleman and reminds the children daily the meaning of kindness. You're the best, Mr. Carnine!! Mr. Carnine is my currently third and fourth period teacher. I trust him to be a good person. he told us once, that if he hears somebody swear while they are walking by his class he will ask them a questions about the swearing. I eat in Mr. Carnines room every single day it is open and I get to talk to my friends. He says that he will allow more people to come into his room when it is raining or to hot =). He is a great teacher and he would never say the N word. I am sick right now and Mr. Carnine left a message to my parents and he said " don't worry about homework and I hope you will see you tomorrow or monday." It was sent on thursday and I hope Mr. Carnine will come back monday

Mr Carnine was by far my favorite teacher I've ever had. I was in his last high honors class in 6th grade and also serviced worked for him in 7th grade. So you could say I know a little about Mr. Steven Carnine. He would never do anything to hurt someones feelings intentionally. Even if he did ever offend someone on accident in the slightest way he would say, "Give yourself an extra credit point!" or "Get yourself a poison!" There was never a dull moment in his class. His class was one of the only classes that was decorated throughout the whole room. He always took time to decorate the room. The way the room was decorated made all the students feel at home and safe. Another reason as to why Mr. Carnine was the best teacher was that he always had his door open at any time of the day. If anyone ever needed a place to eat lunch or someone to talk to Mr. Carnine was there. There are a million more examples I can give you of why Mr. Carnine is the loved teacher he is today. Well enough about how caring he was lets got to his actual teaching skills. He also took time to teach the subject he was teaching and made sure everyone understood it. I am in the 9th grade and there are many times in history that we'll go over something, and I'll look over to my friends who had Mr. Carnine and just smile because we already learned that in the 6th grade. If Mr. Carnine needs anyone to help him out or stand up for him I'll make sure I'm out there on the front line because I'm not about to let my favorite teacher get fired. Mr. Carnine if you're reading this I just want to say thank you for the countless memories I have from your class and that it was an honor being able to be one of your students.
