I don't go Paul Revere, and I'm not even a part of the LAUSD school system, but when I heard that an innocent educator of our society's next generation was FALSELY ACCUSED of making racist remarks in class, I knew I had to speak up. My best friend had Mr. Carnine as a teacher, and I remember her always raving about him, saying how he was such a fabulous teacher. I highly doubt that any man with this type of praise from his students would stoop so low as to "make disparaging remarks to students about black and Jewish people," as KCBS-TV accused him of doing. Please, step up for Mr. Carnine now!

Mr.Carnine has been my inspiration since the first day of school when he welcomed my scared 6th grade class into his homey decorationed room. He always found a way to make things fun and always knew how to bring a smile to my face. Even though he was both an English and history teacher he found a way to make them both entertwine by giving us spelling tests on historical words and writing essays on ancient places. I learned so much from his class and if he is no longer able to inspire and enlighten students at Paul Revere middle school like he did to me, then our school will have lost one of their greatest teachers.

This teacher's warmth, friendliness and Karen stood out to my door, even though she wasn't in his class because he knew her by name and would say hello to her. While I do not condone racism it seems clear there has been some misunderstanding andi misinterpretation in this highly sensitive area.

Mr. Carnine is honestly one of the best teachers out there. He has taught me amazing study skills, writing, and has shaped me to be the student I am today. I happen to be Jewish as well and has not offended me EVER. He is such an amazing guy and this is not fair. #saveMr.carnine

Mr. Carnine is one of the few teachers who have changed my life. He has such an enthusiasm for teaching, and because of this he passes on an enthusiasm for learning to all of his students. I never thought I would care about ancient civilizations like Rome, Greece, and China. The way he teaches however, made me realize how beautiful these civilizations were. He basically made me want to go back in time and live in those times! Which is completely crazy because who would want to live in a time before private indoor plumbing? (Rome had pretty good plumbing for their time though). He didn't only teach me that these civilizations were beautiful, he taught me how beautiful and rich culture was. He taught me that life is rich with music and art and amazing accomplishments. He made me proud of the human race. He made me love us. He also taught me, that each culture has its profound beauty, which was to be cherished and celebrated. This is why these accusations against him are nonsense. He taught me to love other cultures and other people. He showed all of us how to grow a deep respect for other people who looked different than us. He was always loud with his singsong voice, and his elaborate, grandeur gestures. He would flourish his arms and leap around. He lives the way he teaches, bright, passionate, and exciting. He is like a flame of beautiful greek Fire, (he taught me about greek Fire by the way) that the people around him could only cherish. We were blessed to have him as a teacher. Blessed to be in his presence. Sometimes, when someone burns that brightly, instead of enjoying the light and basking in the warmth, some people want to put that light out. They may feel that he is too bright, that fire can burn. But fire can also save lives by keeping people warm. And Mr. Carnine has kept me warm. He has kept so many students warm. I always felt so safe with him. I loved going into his classroom: it was my Paul Revere Home (besides Mr. H's room, that was also home). His c

Mr Carnine is my son's favorite teacher. He makes history intriguing and pertinent. I find it just terrible that the district and administration have taken the word of one student without even hearing from the ~30 other students that were in the class!

Mr. Carnine was one of the best teachers I have ever had. His reputation has been damaged by these false accusations. His class and himself will never be the same. Anyone who steps into his room could see how much he loves his job - from the artwork he has hanging in his room to all the kids eating in his room at lunch. There is so much evidence against this amazing teacher being racist. In my year in his class, he never said anything remotely racially disparaging. It would be one of the biggest mistakes LAUSD has ever made to fire one of the best, or the best, teachers at Paul Revere.
This is not ok!
