Mr. Carnine was my son Matthew's favorite teacher in 6th grade. He would always eat lunch in his room with his friends . Mr. Carnine's room has always been a safe place for the kids.

My daughter Beau is currently in Mr. Carnine's 6th grade history class, and she considers him to be a very good teacher and absolutely not a racist. He's made history much more "alive" for the kids in her class, and it sounds like this one particular student simply didn't understand what she was being taught. He should be reinstated immediately.

I had Mr. Carnine as my main teacher back in 2006 at Paul Revere, and he was an amazing teacher and educator. He inspired his pupils greatly. Most everyone who had him had a wonderful experience. He teaches students at an extremely rough age, middle school is truly the worst, but he brings up important societal issues, historical and current and he presents them with a manor of enthusiasm. Paul Revere is lucky to have a teacher as inspiring as Mr. Carnine. I don't know why these seemingly false accusations have been made, but I hope with the support of this community we can resolve them.

How can we move forward with punishment of a teacher, when so many students who were in the classroom deny the accusations? LAUSD needs to examine its process and reread the constitution.

Mr carnine even though i dont know him that well he sounds like an amazing teacher my brother had him and we are african-american and he never felt a sliver pf racism and no one changes that quickly in two years if they change at all.

This is a travesty that needs to be resolved immediately in full vindication of Mr. Carnine. He has proven to be one of the most dedicated, charismatic and caring teachers in all of LAUSD who has an unblemished track record.
