I haven’t had the honor of having Mr. Syman as a teacher but the times I’ve interacted with him they were an absolute pleasure. Even outside his area, he has impacted students throughout the school in a way that both improves their education and participation. By decreasing his hours as a teacher or moving to the middle school, it doesn’t only affect himself but the students he has and will impact in the future. Saying as a non-student of Mr. Syman I would have to say he is one of the best teachers the school can offer a student.

Mr. Syman was a fundamental part of my participation in the band program at HHS - I can’t imagine going through all of it, especially the jazz program, without him when I attended HHS.

Mr. Syman was the most compassionate, knowledgeable and helpful teacher I had in my four years at Hudson high. Not retaining him would be an insult to the many students (including me) that he so profoundly impacted.

Actions have consequences. The community failing to pass referendum one is now cutting our teachers, and passing referendum two is not only not saving Willow & Houlton, but will cost our community even more.

Mr. Syman was such an amazing teacher when I was at the highschool. I graduated in 2021 and even throughout covid he tried his hardest to make the situation as best for his students as he could. He is such a wonderful teacher and human. Cutting from the music department would hurt the moral, lively hood, and productivity of the music department and the school as a whole

From my experience with Mr. Symon, I strongly, wholeheartedly believe that this School and Department will suffer undeniably, and experience one of the greatest losses in the history of the Hudson High School.

I simply cannot understate the positive influence Mr. Syman has had on my son. He didn’t only instruct students on playing instruments, he really dug in and exposed the heart and soul and history of music resulting in a richer understanding and lifelong appreciation for music. Please reconsider letting him leave the HSD
