We live on the Douglas Park estate and traffic through Queens Way is busy at the best of times. Add in a new "Hub" and it'll be gridlocked as it's already a bottle neck where the road narrows. If the fire brigade get a shout, particularly at school times/people going to work, it will not only delay the firemen getting there but also out of the station to the scene of the fire. It is perfectly placed already, so what's the point in changing it!

The fire station is in a perfect position, with all the resources needed for the firefighters. Seems madness to move it to an already congested site which will be worse with all the school traffic

This is complete madness the station should remain where it is

I believe that the ambulance service have said that they will not be involved with the hub because of the longer response times in the event of a major incidence on the A11. How will that not apply to fire crews as well. It seems that regardless of objections by locals the council is intent on forcing this hub on Mildenhall.

Absolutely stupid, the hub as a whole, but this is the cherry on the cake. Who puts people's lives at risk for the sake of money?

Increasing call out time is so dangerous!!!!! Surely anyone with half a brain can see that the longer a fire burns the more damage is caused or the longer it takes to turn out to an rtc the longer some one is suffering. Leave station where it is.... it works!!!!

The firestation has been in it's location for many years moving it to the hub will only disrupt the excellent service with delays from extra traffic all in the same place.

Who would think of moving the Fire Station near a school must be crazy, just think of a call as the schools are going bin or out. A big joke.

If the current firemen and previous firemen do not think that moving the station elsewhere is a bad idea why would the Council move it elsewhere? Council please use the money on more practical uses for the community!

The fire station is in a central location - do u really want to move it next to a school and on a road that already struggles with the traffic

With the expansion expected around Lakenheath, lets have two fire stations to cover the lives of so many residents. This is what PLANNING is all about.
