Having spent many years as a project manager in the NHS Ambulance Service (including new ambulance headquarters and control centre plus eleven new ambulance stations) I find it hard to understand why it is thought necessary to relocate a strategically placed fire station and training facility in Mildenhall to a backwater among education and community services.
It is also as hard to understand why consideration is being given to relocate the Mildenhall Clinic facilities to the Hub as it's present location is ideally situated for expectant mums and childrens' services plus services for the elderly.
Mildenhall deserves a 21st Century Medical Centre where the Clinic is to be found.
Come on Councillors and NHS planners. Let's hear from you.

I live in Lakenheath and very concerned about the additional time it will take for a fire appliance to get to lakenhheath.

I believe moving the fire station to Sheldrick Way will slow down response times due to congestion in Queensway. The fire station should not be moved to Sheldrick Way, Mildenhall Hub should serve the community not be a detriment to safety and well being.

it's better where it is in the middle of the town, moving it to Sheldrick Way will slow down response times due to congestion in Queensway

The fire station move should not go ahead as safety will be compromised at the Hub Site. Also facilities for the Fire fighters would not be adequate.

Will make life impossible for the elderly, library users, those who need blood tests and have other health needs, etc. etc. The most inconvenient solution to the problems the 'hub' is supposed to address. Only the Academy Trust and housing developers would benefit from this demented scheme! Our councillors just do not care for our community.

I am told by the experts that all tests have been carried out regarding traffic flows etc and all will be well, just like Five Ways Roundabout then.

Typical FHDC. Blatant disregard for the community. If FHDC wants to save money cut the salaries of the senior executives!
