MYP along with all programs is being "evaluated" not eliminated at Midvale at this time. Also, discontinuing MYP will not discontinue gifted services. MYP is not a gifted program. SALTA is the gifted program that is running simultaneously at Midvale. The confusion may be because prior to the district split Midvale ran the ALPS (Jordan District name) program for gifted students. When the district split both MYP and SALTA (Canyons District name) started at the same time. IF MYP is discontinued SALTA will continue to run.

David, the SALTA program is the gifted program in Canyons District. It is running simultaneously with the MYP program at Midvale. It will run with or without MYP.
