They don’t deserve what’s happening to them. They are are front line workers. They put there life on the line ever day. They do Not deserve to be treated in this manner .

Midland police already have a repor with the locals and unfortunately know all the trouble makers too. Keep them in the community!

Having lived in Midland for a number of years, I am deeply disturbed at the plan not to provide all of the existing Midland officers positions with the incoming OPP service. As already pointed out by current Midland tax payers, the men and women who have gone above and beyond for this community are clearly wanted and deserved OPP positions rather than being kicked to the curb as planned. Those involved with this decision should be feeling pretty disgusted with themselves. I had planned on returning to Midland to retire but not now given the types of decisions being made within the community.

This is how you look after those who’ve looked after you? This is so dispicable that EVERY officer and support staff were not brought on by the OPP in this take over. They’ve risked their lives protecting the citizens of Midland and this town counsel didn’t ensure that ALL OF these people and their families would be protected in this takeover?? How disgusting. The Mayor didn’t even have the decentcy to attend and publicly thank our Midland Police Force this past weekend at the “Thank you” get together put on by counselors Jack and Judy Contin. Shame on you Gord MacKay!!!

I don't think it's fair to these officers to lose their positions/jobs/careers just because the OPP has taken over the jurisdiction. These officers didn't ask for this to happen. The Midland Police officers have been serving our area for over 125 years. They are still officers of the law and are just as much Police as the OPP officers. And the bonus is they'd have extra staff so they can maybe do more ride checks or speed/distracted drivining stops.

Not taking all of the staff would have been a dealbreaker for me.

It is unacceptable for these officers to be let go like they were. The OPP should have taken ALL !

Loyal and devoted officers and support staff did not ask for this. They all deserve to be hired
