I AM ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BY THE SURGE OF SUPPORT FOR OUR LOCAL OFFICERS!! THIS MOMENTUM PROVES THAT OUR COMMUNITY REMEMBERS EVERY SINGLE KIND ACT PERFORMED BY THESE DEDICATED PEOPLE!!

Having lived in Midland for a number of years, I am deeply disturbed at the plan not to provide all of the existing Midland officers positions with the incoming OPP service. As already pointed out by current Midland tax payers, the men and women who have gone above and beyond for this community are clearly wanted and deserved OPP positions rather than being kicked to the curb as planned. Those involved with this decision should be feeling pretty disgusted with themselves. I had planned on returning to Midland to retire but not now given the types of decisions being made within the community.
I don't think it's fair to these officers to lose their positions/jobs/careers just because the OPP has taken over the jurisdiction. These officers didn't ask for this to happen. The Midland Police officers have been serving our area for over 125 years. They are still officers of the law and are just as much Police as the OPP officers. And the bonus is they'd have extra staff so they can maybe do more ride checks or speed/distracted drivining stops.
I do not believe that Midland can afford to lose the valuable members of the police force. They have spent years building relationships with the entire community.
This may look self serving but I believe other officers also deserve support from me. Even if you do not live in Midland the service reaches out to those who visit the town
They are well respected members of our community we need to show them support. On a personal note, Constable Debb Brown assisted me in a time when my son was making poor decisions. She took a firm but empathetic tone with him and helped him make better decisions. She recognized that he was just a good kid making a bad decision. .. And didn't need to suffer the consequences for those actions.
They don’t deserve what’s happening to them. They are are front line workers. They put there life on the line ever day. They do Not deserve to be treated in this manner .
Very unfair and short sighted.

Midland police already have a repor with the locals and unfortunately know all the trouble makers too. Keep them in the community!
