Save the Missouri Fine Arts Academy

I was an attendee in 2016 and this academy changed my life. I met amazing students and teachers and built relationships that will last forever.

I think even not attending MFAA, I have seen an impactful change in my friends who have!

I am a part of the MFAA class of 2015. Though my time there was short, I can not begin to explain what my time there did for me as an artist and the friendships that I came away with. I am now an art education major and because of MFAA I would not have chosen anything different.

I'm not wealthy, so the legislators don't care. If rich people cared about the Missouri Fine Arts Academy, it would be a priority. It changes lives. It lifts people out of poverty. It gives people confidence to grow. Missouri legislators don't care about these things. They want to know what wealthy people want them to do. Right? (You should be ashamed of yourselves).

This program positively impacts a lot of teens through the arts! It's a great program that should definitely continue on!

MFAA was the best 3 weeks of my life and I would hate to know that other people won't have the opportunity to go to such an amazing academy. My younger sister who is 13 now has been working on her art because she wants to be able to make it to MFAA when she's able. She'd be heartbroken if it was defunded.

This program impacted me in the best possible way. It gave my life a new direction and this program is something I reflect on daily. I became so much more aware of my peers and my community, as well as myself. I hope that others will be able to take part in such an amazing experience without the pressures of finances.

Save this program! It changes lives!

This program has the chance to change hundreds of lives, career paths, and involve students into something bigger and more beautiful than they could ever imagine. Do not take away something as precious and colorful such as the Missouri Fine Arts Academy.

MFAA cannot die. This place changed my life forever. I wouldn't be the person I am today without. To this date this is the best thing that's ever happened to me!

As an Alumni of the class of 2015, I'm proud to state I'm pursuing an education in Music Therapy, and I couldn't have done it without the encouragement from not only my teachers, but the people I've met there as well

I went through this academy, and I can absolutely say that this was the most impactful part of my high school career. This not only taught me useful art skills, but also lifelong lessons. Hands down the most supportive community I've ever had the pleasure, and privilege to be a part of.

Save the arts! Wherever they may be!
