The National Trust should not be allowed to put an independent retailer out of business.

I am signing this petition as I feel strongly that to close McConaghy's souviener shop would be to lose a piece of history, we are losing too many of our family owned local businesses. I thought this charity was established to protect the places we love?

We feel very strongly that the National Trust has shown little, if any, thought for the local community at the Causeway. This is yet another example and we strongly oppose their intention to close the Mc Conaghy Souvenir Shop of which we have many happy memories since they first started trading.

Perhaps some large boards on the road in could be erected reminding tourists that it's free to go to the Causeway and that the NT facility isn't obligatory? Hit them where they hurt, as it's obvious that the money is the issue.

Shame on N T , greedy money people. Don't care they ruined the Causeway. worked there in tea rooms from a 14 yr old to 18 yr old. Always visit Wee shop when home from Australia . Never stepped foot inside National Trust shop or tea room a complete rip off.

No shame for the n.t. seem to be less about looking after properties and natural landmarks and more about the money these days.

I strongly disagree with the plans of the national trust to revoke the lease on this business.

The National Trust are all too often nothing more than a bunch of bullies hellbent on greed... heck of a way for a 'charitable' organisation to conduct themselves.. The Divis Coffee Barn and now the Giants Causeway...These parasites need to be driven out of Northern Ireland, not embraced as some sort of charitable saviour... Scum bags!

Shameful behaviour of the national trust.
Greed must always be resisted...
