as a member of the national trust I think this is a scandalous and high-handed decision.

Why can't the Higher Management of the National Trust recognise the damage and negative impact the organisation is bringing on itself by forcing this much loved LOCALY run little shop out of business at the Giants Causeway? They obviously are determined to create and maintain their unjust monoply at the Giants Causeway regardless of the cost to local people and business. It's become increasingly apparent over the past number of years that The true aim of the National Trust right across the North Coast of Northern Ireland is to maximise the amount of revenue it can regardless of local opinion and businesses. Down through the years locals showed their support to the NT thinking that the intentions of this'charity' were honourable only now to find this organisation have betrayed the good will shown to them . National Trust.. its time to WAKE UP!! You no longer have the good will or Trust of the local communites on the Causeway Coast.. your organisation has now become a byword for mistrust..dishonour and deceit.

This is a great wee shop and as a national trust member I’m outraged at their behaviour. Yet again, The National Trust seems to be getting too big for their boots and forgetting their roots in pushing a small independent business out. There are plenty of toilets in the (very expensive) visitor centre and plenty of space there they could repurpose without destroying a small business.

Has anyone thought about a service at the Causeway via a hand held signing telling visitors the Causeway is free to visit? I'd certainly take a turn the odd day?

This shop is my first memory of the giants causeway, stopping for an ice-cream as kids before walking to the stones on an annual basis. Still visit a few times a year and have yet to go inside the new visitors centre, but always stop here for ice-cream, 35 years later! Such a loss, this was part of the original attraction, becoming too commercial now!

This is just wrong - I and so many more have wonderful memories of trips to the causeway and buying mementoes of our time there. Does a families business and hard work over the years count for nothing?

Have had many a wee tea and ice cream whilst walking dogs round cliffs family businesses should be supported
