This affects my family. Why on earth would the school want to alienate the very families whose children provide the teachers with their livelihood??

I can't believe that the governing body are shutting down an OUTSTANDING nursery and Pre-school...mid school year nonetheless!!! My eldest went to MCC at the All Saints setting which was fantastic, and then he was forced to attend Rose Hill School. THIS is one of the reasons I didn't want him there in the first place, they care not about the children, it's all about the money! I hope they sort this out as it will make a huge impact to the current children attending the setting and also the future children, like my youngest, that would be attending in years to come. I feel awful for the parents who's childcare has been thrown up in the air like this. Sort it out for the children!!

I have been taking children to marple childcare preschool for the last 3 years in my capacity as childminder and grandma ,the staff are very professional and caring, unlike the person who has made this insane decision where no thought has been given to the children it will affect but only the money it will generate, when did our schools become money making concerns?

Brilliant with the kids in a far from optimal facility. Don't let the financial income override the children's welfare!

What a short sighted ridiculous closure, the impact on local families will be disproportionately huge given its role in both daycare and wrap around school care.

@D Millward. Playground politics is not something I indulge in. I'm too busy. I'm a full-time working mum who has had the pleasure of using MCC nursery/pre-school facilities. I now use the wrap around care. I received/receive an excellent service from both. I have simply signed this petition to show that I support this provision/local business and want to continue using it in its current location. Read the statement at the top. It's all fact and only re-iterates the letters parents have received from Rose Hill and Marple Childcare. I don't control the other comments that are shared here.

It would be incredibly sad of this place was closed.

Please keep this child care facility open. Both my children attended the After School Club run by this team. A very much needed offering for working parents of children attending Rose Hill Primary School. I believed that the provision of wrap around childcare was one of the requirements related to planning permission for the new school buildings and the closure of two other Marple Primary Schools.

@Rachel Machin I don't think anybody will be forced to use anything they don't wish. Marple Childcare will presumably be offering other services at other venues still. If it's convenience you want why not wait to see what Rose Hill are offering on site before jumping to conclusions. When the new scheme is in place presumably Rose Hill will need staff so the Marple Childcare staff may be able to work directly for the school - do you 100% know otherwise? Before the merger with the other schools Rose Hill always offered before and after school and nursery places direct, so why not again? It seems like playground politics and rumours have once again won the day here. I'm going to wait to see what all parties are saying before I jump to such ridiculous conclusions about my child's welfare. DM

My friend's child attends this nursery and it will be a big blow to her and other families that use it if it closes. It deserves looking at again to see if closure is really necessary or if other measures can be introduced to keep it in the community.

It's such a shame this is even a possibility. We've not needed to use it, but it's a wonderful setting, offering amazing childcare & flexibility. I'm not sure there's anywhere else that offers this in the Marple area.

If the reasons behind the closure are true, then it's shocking and should be prevented.

Closing this high quality childcare in the middle of a school year is a shocking decision - such a huge detrimental impact on the children and on parents who have enrolled their children in good faith happy that they are well cared for. The staff are caring trained professional in whose care the children are thriving : I've never heard of such provision being axed in mid year.

I cannot begin to comprehend the thought process behind this proposed closure. They are fantastic both in child care and as an addition to rose hill school. They are clearly very capable too achieving multiple offsted outstanding awards. Don't force them out - they have a tiny room that the school can live without - if anything they should be given more space.

Much needed childcare in marple, why would you leave the staff parents and children without it. Not always about money or numbers but sometimes it has to be about community

Why would we want our child to go to a school whose board of governors don't seem concerned with childcare, but rather profits. Disgusting.
