Disgraceful to think this is being done on the sly to make way for a before and after school provision.

Having read up on whats going on here, albeit without the real facts i.e. figures involved (nobody is saying!), I am far less sure of Rose Hill as a school destination for my child.
One thing I do know is that it is beneficial for the community if this childcare service remains, and detrimental if it ceases. This petition needs to reach the right people and change their minds - It is as simple as that.

At a time when pre-school / nurser places needed more than ever, why would a school do this? Just seems like an act of spite to me by the School, jealous of the popularity of the 'outstanding' preschool Marple Childcare operate. Ridiculous, they dont want them on the premises but they are quite happy to receive the well rounded, children they produce into their Reception classes.
Someone needs to speak to the Education Authority-are they aware that this much needed facility is being taken away from our community?

It would be a tragedy if this facility was lost to the community.

A cynical move by the new Head. I am seriously questioning whether a school lead by someone who behaves in this way is the school where I want my daughter educated.

This is a big blow to the school and parents and totally unwarranted.

This is a disgusting move. The latest controversial decision by the new (and unpopular) head teacher and the board of governors. They have raised the rent beyond what the preschool can pay. As I understand it, Marple Childcare is a non-profit organisation with most of the staff on minimum wage. It will have been quite obvious to the head teacher and the board of governors that there is no way that the preschool could afford such a massive increase in rent.
As the preschool also provided services for before and after school clubs and will no longer be there, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to wonder if the school engineered this situation so they could use the room currently occupied by the preschool, took over the services previously occupied by Marple Childcare and took the same money from the parents for those services.
Essentially it could be seen as a hostile takeover. And one that puts a preschool rated "Outstanding" in the last two inspections out of business.
You would think that the school would welcome the fact that they are hosting an "Outstanding" preschool with great wraparound care which feeds their reception classes. However, they have created a situation, without consultation with the parents, which means the preschool will close, the staff lose their jobs and the current children will not complete their year. For what?

Money before children and their parents. Alas there is no sense of community service and care in this decision. This is a shameful act.

Such ridiculous news. Annabel loved it there last year and set her up for a perfect transition into reception. The staff have always been brilliant (even at 7.30am for an unscheduled morning drop of which i have just had to do!) This decision should be reconsidered asap.

Without this wonderful affordable setting families like my sister's will not have the much needed relief from parenting and my nephew wouldn't get the social interaction and skills he deserves.

Marple childcare have looked after Hannah extremely well, why were parents not consulted about this dramatic change?
