This is a joke!! Its bad enough to want to close you down, but to do it in april is just typical of a school that cares more about money than parents and children. Good luck, hope you get them to change their minds.

Marple Childcare have done an excellent job of looking after my two children. Will be interesting to see who provides the alternative. Will it be tired teachers who don't really want to be there?
If it ain't broke.....

The before and after school by MCC, is wonderful just what your child needs after a busy school day. Not a "enhanced school curriculum " until pick up!!! Children are there because parents are at work!! And odd ones because they love it so much!! The school already offers clubs, which is great they should leave MCC alone! I feel sorry for the children and parents that have no choice and will have to send their children. If we wanted our children to join " an enhanced school curriculum " club we would send them!
But this is MCC before/after school club with lovely caring staff and that's where I have chosen to send MY child!!!!

I am signing this because my son loves going to MCC. Yes, school have informed us in a rather blunt letter that alternative provision will be provided, BUT, we have to apply for it and it is the uncertainty surrounding places, costs and the thought of unfamiliar formats and faces that are distressing. Why no parental consultation? If it ain't broken, why fix it? Oh, sorry, of course- money!!! Good luck with the petition. My heart goes out to MCC staff. Flexible, caring and supportive to working families. Thank you xxx

I have no doubt whatsoever that your last sentence is the primary reason for the unsustainable rent rise

100% Correct....
This is a totally manufactured situation for the reasons you have so rightly pointed out..
The sooner the community of Marple reach yhe same conclusion the better.. !!

With all due respect, I'm afraid to say that, if anyone needs to 'get their facts right' then I suggest that's you..the actual OFSTED report for RPS has risen, but only from 'requires improvement' to 'Good', this does not constitute the 'Outstanding' standard which MCC has achieved twice in succession. And it is totally unacceptable that RPS has increased the rent of their room by so much it has resulted in the situation we have now.
FACT!!

The school are being disingenuous. It was they who put up the rent to an unsustainable level and they who gave notice to Marple Childcare. As anyone knows once notice is served keeping staff and services very quickly becomes difficult to sustain. They certainly do not want to go.
Marple Childcare is chosen by many families as a preferred option to the school nursery. The comments on this site show just how valued it is.

I'm not sure who this petition is addressed to?! It should really be sent to the company themselves. As far as I understand from speaking to the school, they were also dismayed that the provision was being withdrawn with very little notice and leaving families in the lurch. My grandchild attended Rose Hill nursery which was also judged outstanding in the recent Ofsted reports and I am sure Mrs Hawker and the school will rise to the challenge of picking up the pieces left by the decision from Marple Childcare to withdraw midway through the year. They are are a private company who operate a number of nurseries and wraparound provisions across Stockport so are quite within their rights to close one of their pre-school and nursery facilities and concentrate their efforts on new business ventures elsewhere - but it would have been much more considerate to the families affected had they done so at the end of July. As far as the school is concerned, they had agreed the rent for this year and were as surprised and shocked as everyone else when they decided to give them notice to go at Easter. I think people here should get their facts straight before jumping on the 'haters' bandwagon...
