Punishment way to harsh for first time. The other guy get off with no punishment, it takes to to tangle. So why is their only one punishment.

I think malik shouldn't be punished as you said he doesn't even play football but he was in the locker he is in the wrong first of all and I have known malik for a long I know he is a good kid and wouldn't hurt anybody so I know Damon was constantly picking with him! I hope malik get the right justice!

If the other kids parents stated he needed to be hit it's obvious the bully didn't bother the school system so y so harsh for first time ever in trouble.. Mr. Jackson comes from a wonderful family and has a very good and strong spirit. So let's remember to forgive and forget and our God help them realize Good spirit will always prevail over a bs system or guy's who think/thought being a bully was koo. Situation in my prayer's only want what's right.. Yu will shine regardless Mr. Jackson.. Best wishes

The same thing happened to me when I was in school.The guy came onto the practice field but the whole team got him but only 4 of us got suspended

I see this as self defense. I had the same problem when I was in elementary school. I told the guy to stop and he didn't so I defended myself. It's your legal right to do so!!

I understand that Malik hit the boy. But the other young man started it! I understand punishment but that is a bit extreme! Why not in school suspension for a number of days!And it is not fair that the other young man don't be punished also! After all he hit first!

In my limited interactions with Malik, he seems to be an intelligent, thoughtful, hardworking young man.
While I am not aware of the specifics of this incident, 45 days in alternative school seems very harsh for a fight, particularly if it was indeed instigated by another student.
