Mali is finally on her way to the sanctuary after all this time. I am truly stunned that our efforts worked because none of this would have happened without you. Please keep an eye on things to ensure she settles into her new life safely.

Mali was taken as a nursing baby from Sri Lanka in 1977. She's been a captive in Manila Zoo for 35 years; an environment that's unable to fulfill her physical, emotional, and psychological needs.

She's been suffering from isolation and various health issues due to the lack of medical attention given to her.

The Office of the President has already issued a directive ordering to transfer Mali in a sanctuary after a thorough medical check-up. "But despite the fact that PETA has offered to cover the entire cost of the transfer, authorities are stalling PETA's efforts to faciliate Mali's move to a sanctuary" (PETA, 2012).

I honestly never thought this would reach one hundred signatures. It is completely overwhelming to see that so many of you care about Mali just as much as I do.

Mali needs to be moved to the Sanctuary in Thailand do she can live out the rest of her life with love and have the company of other elephants. Elephants are social animals and need the company of their own to survive and flourish. Release her and stop her suffering.

This is wrong, this poor innocent girl needs to be taken out of this prison of hell and given some quality of life in a sanctuary with her own kind. Elephants are family orientated and do not live alone, they need their family, this is mental abuse for this poor girl, its wrong

Free this girl. She deserves better than this. She should have access to something other than concrete. She should also be around other elephants. They are a herd animal and keeping them segregated is just plain wrong!!

Around the world, the eyes of modern people watch the negligence and ignorance of those responsible for Mali's life, and these people around the world invite Mali's owners to save their reputation by giving Mali over to a sanctuary and be done with barbaric treatment.

please help this poor elephant who has been on her own for 35 years, she has led a cruel solitary life. Elephants are family orientated and the psychological damage is so heartbreaking to see as she holds her own tail. Do the most humane thing and let PETA help.

How can anyone who professes to be a human being pass this by and ignore Mali. It's beyond my understanding. The Mayor of Manila cannot be a caring, compassionate human being to allow Mali to suffer so much for so long. Breaks my heart.

GOD-willing, the very best, comprehensive, and enforceable animal welfare laws and regulations shall very soon become prevalent throughout the world.

I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE IS STILL CAPTIVE THERE SINCE SHE HAS TAKEN THE NOTICE BY THE MEDIA A COUPLE YEARS AGO. PLEASE DON'T ABANDON HER AND THE REST OF THE ANIMALS. I WILL TRY TO REACH ANYONE AND ANY ASSOCIATION WHO ARE ABLE TO HELP
