Lucy deserve to be in a fair weather with a good elephant company, roaming around in freedom. Do not let her run the same fate that went to Limba, dying from "love". Love is wanting the other to be happy and thriving! Even if that means be away from us!
I cannot believe that a kind human being would prevent one little elephant from retiring to a climate to which she is accustomed. It is minus 20 in Edmonton today obviously not a temperate climate as the zoo vet believes. If you have a heart give a chance to be free.
After seeing how the Alaska Elephant-Maggie is doing and now the 3 Toronto girls are doing. There is really no reason why Lucy cannot join them. I heard that she wants to be with Humans and Not elephants. Paws have experts to monitor Lucy. If Lucy really wants to be by herself. Please picture her in a OPEN field where she can roam. NOT to be walked with Handlers. Edmonton really needs to give up Lucy. Pandas and Polar Bears can be your prime attractions.. Not the Asian elephant
EVERYTHING is in place to transport Lucy to the California Sanctuary. They are waiting for her!!! Bob Barker is MORE than happy to pay for the transportation charges. The 3 elephants from the Toronto Zoo are thriving at the California Sanctuary!! Lucy needs to be set free, and the veterinarian corporate puppet who says that she has an undisclosed respiratory illness and can't be transported is an unprofessional statement. The veterinarian association should complete an independent audit of Lucy's actual health and charge the zoo veterinarian for unprofessional conduct. The welfare of the animal comes FIRST. NOT profit.
Please send Lucy home. She came off her leash IN HER YARD. This is ridiculous. A neighbor that doesn't like this family should not win!
Lucy has to be moved to a Sanctuary before she drops dead in her concrete prison!

I grew up with Lucy in Edmonton and am very ashamed of my hometown that she is still kept there. Please allow an outside medical examination to be done and allow her to go to a sanctuary with a warmer climate and other elephants. Female elephants are EXTREMELY social and it is tragic that she is being kept in the the smallest ramshackle zoo I've ever seen in my life with little room to roam, which is mostly concrete and hard on her feet. Funds can be raised to pay for everything. It can be done. Let her go. Please.
