All my life I have been in association with the military at Invicta Barracks. We don't want more housing, we want to retain our status as a garrison town.

Having grown up opposite the barracks it would be criminal to let it go just to build houses, Maidstone hasn't got the infrastructure to cope ie, schools/hospitals/GP'S

The Barracks are an asset to this lovely town and with a history of over 200 years it is disgusting that the decision to close the barracks has been granted. We do not want another borough buying the site, nor do the residents want 2000 homes built opposite them which will just add to further strains on the limited infrastructures within the area.

A great example of a foreign culture adding only good to a white British town. Fab people the Nepalese. Loyal, respectable, kind, quiet, great food. Remove the head-chopping maniacs from our midst and import more civilised Nepalese please.

I live right next to the barracks and would hate to see it goes my children have always loved watching the soldiers out on their runs and it gives e me a feeling of pride and security.

Please save the Barracks, for those who live and work there, but also for our heritage and gratitude. You can't keep selling off to make a "buck"! There are enough problems in Maidstone to sort out without making more!

If we lose the Barracks, more houses will be built, causing even more grid -lock in the town. The Barracks are an important part of our history and community.

The personnel at Invicta barracks are a credit to the town and also part of its history. They also support various community projects.
Please keep them here they are very welcome. We are the County town after all.

Am concerned about the impact closing the barracks will have on the local economy. The military personnel and their families are part of what makes Maidstone special.
