This Miliitary base should not be closed! In Primary school , just at the end of year 6 we went to Invicta Park barrack and the people there were really nice! I say no!!

I fully support Helen Grant & everybody opposed to this proposed closure.Let's hope it's not a 'done deal' like all the other housing going ahead in and around Maidstone.

I served for 5 years at Maidstone and 25 years later returned to live here.
We have rum out of infrastructure to service any more housing - even the present building explosion has obviously not been planned correctly . The Gurkas need a home barraks - let this be it.

Yes please save the barracks. We cannot accommodate any more housing estates; local facilities and the roads are fit to burst!

It would be a great shame to see Invicta Park close bringing the historical ties between the Army and Kent's county town to an end. I served in the Engineers for 10 years spending 6years at Maidstone.

I have fond memories of Invicta Barracks before going overseas to MELF8 with RE 63 Park Squadron.

This town has had a barracks for over 200 years.The personnel have contributed greatly to the towns and local communities.We do not want to lose the wonderful ghurkas community that are based here at the moment.

It is not just a housing estate for the army. There is an integration with the Regimental Associations and the Community.The RWK regimental museum is in Maidstone. Each year there is a memorial service in Brenchley Gardens for past veterans.
These are all established community links.

I agree that "Invictor Barracks" Maidstone is a special case because it is the home of the Ghurkha`s and they are part of our town.
The ghurkas are our best friends. .
