The Barracks must be kept at all costs. Are we to insult the Ghuka regiment even further by closing the barracks - disregarding their honour to Britain?

Please don't allow this to happen,
We are now over populating the area with the amount oh houses being built, do we really think the infrastructure we allow more and more housing, and we all know once the barracks are closed down, then they will give the go a head for new houses, So we need to make a stand.

It's a disgrace how people are willing to take the soul and history of the town away so that more over priced houses are built with no infrastructure to support them.

I agree the barracks should be saved. it defines Maidstone and the Ghurkas who have done so much to support this country in times of peace and war.

Maidstone has enough house building going on at present with very little additional infrastructure. Keep the Barracks and the great people of Nepal there, The last thing we need is more houses which will mean more traffic to snarl up our already congested roads.

The Ghurkas have given so much to our country - how could anyone treat them so appaulingly. Shame on those who wish Maidstone Barracks to close.

The Maidstone barracks have been there for over 200 years and contribute a lot to the local economy. The barracks should not be wiped out just like that.

Having served in the RE's as a National Service man I am very much opposed to the closure of 36 Engineer Regt. Also the Nepalese community of Maidstone have just taken over the old Pavillion in South Park as their community centre where they intend to have several activities that will aid not only them but others that wish to take part. It will be a great shame if this is all for nothing as they have put a great deal of effort into this project.

These barracks are a part of Maidstone. Our local schools also benefit from the students of these families.
