Save Macclesfield Green Belt

The preservation of the green belt around Macclesfield is essential as it is all that separates Macclesfield from the ever increasing urban sprawl that is Stockport and Manchester

The beautiful landscape of Macclesfield is being ruined by large soulless hosing estates. There is plenty of brown field sites to develop such as run down mills and empty shops. I understand we need social housing but not in our beautiful greenbelt.

This green belt land should not be developed. The landscape of Macclesfield must be protected from short sighted planning decisions that once made, will change this landscape forever.

We need to be looking after the remaining green belt, not building on it. The roads and surrounding amenities wont be able to cope with this proposal. We need to save our green belt land for future generations, we have brown belt land, use that, don't destroy our small market town and increase traffic etc.

Greedy & speculative developers, hands off. The Labour Party should encourage CEC should build affordable council houses on brown field land.

We have suffered too long from money making schemes Rumoured developments south of poynton and adlington totally shocking Preserve countryside for future generations

We need to save our green belt land. Once it has gone it can never be restored, and it could just be the start of more incursions into these valuable areas. There are lots of unsightly brown field sight that must be developed as a first priority. Not our wonderful countryside.

I have reviewed the proposals and wilst appreciate the need for housing why not make developers update the brown field sites first prior to encroaching on the green belt. There are ample areas within Macclesfield centre which currently need developing to bring life back into the Town Centre and outside areas and then if the need is then should small areas of lane be reviewed. There is nowhere in the plan either for increased highways to take on the additional traffic which will come from the housing. The reason Macclesfield has been chosen is because Alderley Edge and Wilmslow areas have refused so the council had to look elsewhere. Protect our Town and the surrounding villages and keep their individuality.

The Council should use all available brown field sites, before even considering encroaching on the protected Green Belt. There are currently 1000,s of houses being belt at Woodford, Tytherington, Poyton and Wilmslow, hence I do not believe any additional housing is required to be belt on the Green Belt adjacent to Macclesfield. The proposed plan is flawed and should be reviewed in light of where housing is required and where existing developments have been approved within East Cheshire and adjacent areas, such as Woodford (part East Cheshire/Stockport).

Having looked at the proposals, I consider them flawed in several respects. Macclesfield needs housing for its aged population these will not be met in an out of town development. There are lots of brown site in the centre of town which would be more of a benefit to develop. The H2S scheme will not provide prosperity to Macclesfield in fact it may have the opposite effect.

No justification to encroach into green belt land. There is sufficient brown land to satisfy local housing need..Certainly no need for a link road in the proposed area as this would only support the new housing development. There is already an A road from Congleton to Monks Heath where it joins the A537.

Build on the brown field sites

why build on so much greenbelt.when theres dozens of brownfield sites around maccelsfield. need using first.maybe some greenbelt.not just for greedy developers .make big profit

I fully support the Save Macclesfield Green Belt campaign. The green belt must remain for the benefit of present and future generations.

The proposal to build anywhere on Cheshire Greenbelt land is in my opinion against all the benifits and welbeing of all the residence living around our areas

The development of green belt is a opportunity for huge profits to be made, little or no social housing is included. The reason given, not enough profit on such housing!
