This site is not appropriate for a residential area. This should be in a commercial zone. The noise and lighting will be disruptive to all residents and damaging to the forest.

We need to use the already vacant buildings in the commercial areas. There is plenty of empty space available.

The Forest is beautiful and cannot be replaced easily. There are so many other locations in the town of Malta that are already usable for construction and does not require ruining the landscape. People move here because of the natural beauty of the forest. If we cut it down we are taking away what makes Malta special and desirable for new people coming in and the prosperity they bring us. In the town of Endicott where I grew up, they did not prioritize the upkeep of all the towns special features. Because of this I watched Endicott slowly decay over the course of my childhood. People who could move out did and they were soon replaced by people who were impoverished. Unfortunately poverty brings with it drugs and gangs. Endicott also couldn't bring in money to try to fix things because the majority of the population was poor or living in poverty and couldn't pay much in taxes. If Malta does not appreciate the fact that the Forest brings us new people and prosperity then it will follow the same path that Endicott did and we will be so much worse off.

We need the State Police, however, our area needs to retain what little "forest" is left, wildlife has the right to that.
Please, there are other options available.

I would like to keep the Trooper presence in Malta but there has to be another more preferable option that does not include clearing more of our natural resources. I would think there are other vacant lots or buildings that should be considered for this project.

I left Malta because it was becoming a "built up" town/city, with little greenery. Leave this parcel alone.

There are plenty of already open areas in Malta to build this. Cutting down the forest and displacing wildlife is not an idea I support.

State Police barracks should stay on State Route 9, not on a local Malta Street that already has the Global Foundries Traffic. There are other parcels on Route 9 that are more appropriate.
Malta DPW was considering move to 9P near Carson's several years ago. This was dropped due to it being surrounded by residential and farther from center of town.
Town of Malta must advocate for the original neighborhood in Malta.
