Save Luther Forest

I am a Malta resident and pay Malta taxes. I am opposed to this because I believe it’s important to preserve our towns natural environment.

development In the area has already eliminated several acres of natural woodland and this project will only result in more loss with further increase of light pollution, noise and traffic.

I support a new station, but that location is unreasonable. There must be a property on Route 9 that would be far more appropriate.

Put the new station on Stonebreak Rd

An accident waiting to happen daily with round abouts and traffic. It should not be allowed in a residential area. It is a big safety concern for pedestrians and children. What zoning laws are in place to even suggest this?

there are so many other locations in malta that wouldn't require taking forest away from Luthers Forest. Why cant the new station be in the old YMCA building or that abandon gas station on 9? there is also some falling apart farm houses over by malta met and the malta animal hospital. I know there are other options for this station to stay in malta while not taking away from the residents of malta.

I want the police department in Malta, however it should not be immersed a residential neighborhood. I can’t believe it’s even being spoke about. Whatever level of traffic they are saying will take place, triple it, I have extensive knowledge in this area.

No need to take away the forest that these homeowners have enjoyed for many years. Seems like it’s not an efficient use of the land.

Strongly opposed to this proposal by the New York State Police. They are plenty of other sites suitable for this, not to clear cut more forest. Thumbs down.

My family and I have lived in Luther Forest and adamantly oppose this plan. Not sure who the ultimate benefactor is here, but it most certainly isn't the residents. Expansion at the current location or somewhere else along the Route 9 corridor is much more appropriate and I believe more functional as well.

Bad location for Luther Forest residents.

The piece of land chosen for the Police Barracks is not only unfortunate, it will be dangerous for traffic, pedestrians, the police, and most importantly, for children. It will change our small town atmosphere her in Luther Forest. It would be unfortunate for all involved.

Keep them pigs out

I live in Luther Forest. A concerned, citizen and resident of this town laid out a very precise set of reasons to oppose New York State using eminent domain to do whatever they please with Luther Forest land. The state of NY and the town of Malta must be kept in check and not abuse power.

I do not want to see this forest developed into housing.

Save Luther forest…what is left of it anyway. This proposal is disgraceful in its entirety,look for another place this is to detrimental to the community.

Dunning Street is just passed our backyard. It is already a very busy road with a lot of traffic noise. The barracks would only add to the traffic and activity in a place that is supposed to be an escape into nature and the forest. Please find a more commercially zoned location for the new barracks.

Raze the outlet mall if you need more retail space this badly.
