There are so many other locations that would be a million times more appropriate for a state police office in Malta. Plenty on route 9, loads of space at the old horse farm west of 87…. There’s no good reason to decimate Luther forest for the barracks.

NYS needs to stop wasting money. There's nothing wrong with where they are or buy a section of Malta commons. There's plenty of building space in Malta without ripping out new land.

We support our local police and NYS Troopers in our community of Malta. But please don't clear cut Luther Forest acreage instead relocate within the Tech Park commercial land or in commercially zoned land on Rt 9 - Thank you.

This project should be in a commercially zoned location, not a highly populated residential area. I am a 20-year resident of Luther Forest who was prepared for tech park development, which is now growing beyond what it was originally slated to be. But I would not have moved next to a police station. I oppose any project requiring clearcutting forest land that gives these developments their character.

Neighborhoods must be protected from intrusion by commercial/ municipal entities. Put the Troopers on US 9. The ravenous developers & their allies in town government want to eradicate all natural lands in favor of development. They want to reserve US 9 property for big development projects so they devise this poorly conceived NYSP location plan to once again diminish their citizens’ Quality of Life. Vote this November for change. “Cut Your Greed…Not Our Trees!”

soon we will have no forever wild areas for us to enjoy. there are not enough positives to outweigh the negative impact of destroying a forest for a building that could be built just about anywhere.
