I do not believe this is a good place to put the barracks.

This is a horrible idea. Destroying woodland, putting pedestrians, cyclists and motorists at risk. The town board is not acting in the best interests of the community.

1). Alternative site evaluation: I can find no information made public on any analysis done comparing the Luther Forest site with other sites in Malta. Was this analysis done? If not, why not. This is basic good governance - evaluating all potential options.
2). Were potential sites located in the Global Foundries area considered? In 2011, Global Foundries received $1.4 billion in NYS tax-payer funded subsidies (including $665 million in cash) - "one of the biggest handouts ever offered to a private enterprise in the United States" (Times Union, Oct 9, 2011), for 1465 jobs (at $1 million per job). That, plus additional subsidies and the most recent Chips Act payouts, should be enough to warrant at least a look at stationing the Troop barracks in a Global Foundries carve out of land. If not, why not?

Please do not allow the State Police Barracks to be built in Luther Forest. It waould ruin the natural beauty of the neighborhood.
There are plenty of sites on RT 9 that would improve those properties

Please respect the natural environment and the wild life that need the forest. Please keep the residential peace here and allow it to stay as it is.

While I fully support our NYS Troopers I feel there are more appropriate locations for this new building.

This deforestation and building would be an atrocity, especially with the possibility of other, more appropriate sites available.

I am absolutely against any more deforestation of Luther Forest. There are other locations on Rt9 that would serve this purpose and not require further destruction of the natural habitat
